Barbara Pistone

Barbara J. Pistone (nee Matte) of Yonkers died on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at age 83. She was born on September 25, 1931 to Stephen and Ann (Madaras) Matte in Yonkers where she was raised and graduated from Blessed Sacrament Academy. Mrs. Pistone worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Yonkers Board of Education. On October 14, 1951 she married Augustine J. Pistone in Our Lady of the Rosary Church; He died on June 4, 2004. She is survived by her 3 children; Darrell (Maria) Pistone, Valerie Ann (Edward) Viviano and Tara (Jason) Landau. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren Randa, Sarah and Shane and her 2 great grandchildren Lexi and Chloe and her brother Steve Matte. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Matte. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church on Monday August 10th at 11am.
