Barbara A. Ryan

Barbara A. Ryan, a lifelong Yonkers resident, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was 90. Barbara was born on October 5, 1934 to Maurice and Maude Sankey Condon. She attended St. Mary's Grade School, Commerce High School and Barbizon School of Modeling. Barbara worked as a secretary prior to marrying Thomas F. Ryan on September 18, 1954 at St. Joseph's Church. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Amackassin Club. While serving on various committees at the church and club over the years, her dedication and love for her family was her passion. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Brody (Lloyd), Barbara Costanzo (James), Susan Giorno (Mario), Maureen Schneider (William), Marybeth Amico (John) and her son, Thomas G. Ryan (Deborah). Also surviving are her 5 beloved grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kristin, Patrick, David, Devin, Garrett, Liam and Jaxson. Barbara was predeceased by her sister, Maureen Kletter, her husband Thomas and her children Thomas M. and Karen.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Yonkers. A committal service will occur Friday, January 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM St Mary's Cemetery, Yonkers. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to; Kairos Adventure's Inc. www.kairosadventures.org/ a program for adults living with disabilities attended by Barbara's granddaughter, Kristin.
