

Carole M. Bennett, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Saturday December 17, 2016 at Calvary Hospital. She was born in Yonkers, New York to William Taft and Frances Ahearn Bennett, Carole is predeceased by her parents and brother, Robert Michael Bennett. Carole is survived by her siblings, William and Dr. Mary F. Bennett, as well as much-loved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grand nephews. Carole graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers in1953 and worked as an office assistant for many years at the Exxon Corporation, previously located in Pelham, New York. Afterwards, she began a twenty-year career as a data input specialist for the General Foods/Philip Morris Company in White Plains, retiring in 1989. She was a world traveler, voyaging from Machu Picchu to Killarney, but she always loved a sunny beachfront the most. Carole will be remembered for her devotion to Law and Order reruns and Powerball, her sage financial advice and her extraordinary vanilla cheesecake. Her wake will be held on Monday, December 19th from 7-9 pm at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday December 20th at 10am with interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to the JCK Foundation Clinic, started by Dr. Stephen P. Kelly, which supports the health and well-being of the citizens of Kabale, Uganda.
