Daniel Steven Heredia

Daniel Steven Heredia passed away at the age of 25 from complications from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Daniel was born in Long Island and lived most of his life in Yonkers, NY. He was an avid artist and student, and graduated from Westchester Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts.

Despite his life-long illness, Danny was always happy with a very positive outlook on life. He had a strong will and was determined to graduate from college. He loved being outdoors in the sun, he loved art and science. But mostly he loved spending time with his family. Danny was a joy and inspiration to his family because of his zest for life and strong motivation to be independent.

There are no words to capture Danny. He was an extraordinary individual, a magnificent force of nature. He was loved by all and loved all. He was a teacher of kindness, humility and consideration, and never complained, even against such difficulty.

Danny leaves behind a close and supportive family including his mother, Maria Patricia Heredia; his father Carlos Heredia; his grandmother, Andrea Llanes; his brother Jason; sisters Andrea Catalina Blake and Gabriela Pazmino; and several aunts, uncles and cousins and many dear friends.

Visitation will be Monday, June 15, 2015, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home located at 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY. The funeral service will be held immediately following from 1:00 pm- 2:00pm.

Burial service will be at 3:00 pm in the Oakwood Cemetery, 304 Lexington Avenue, Mount Kisco, NY.
