

He was born on February 11, 1957 to Edward G. and Alice Gore Mihalczo in Yonkers where he was raised and educated graduating from Gorton High School. Daniel was a land surveying assistant for the EG Mihalczo Company in Yonkers until his retirement in 2019. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Yonkers. He enjoyed fishing, cars, his wife’s good cooking, family and friends and enjoyed talking to anybody. He had a big heart, was very loving and gentle. He was a great husband to his wife Carol for forty years and will always be in her heart. On July 2, 1982, he married his loving wife Carol DeFabiis in Yonkers. Carol survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Edward Mihalczo of Yonkers, a brother, Michael Mihalczo, and his wife Barbara and their two sons, Michael Mihalczo and Edward Mihalczo and his wife Lori, sister Gail Mihalczo Bucchieri and her daughter Christie Bucchieri, sister Lauren Mihalczo Bernardi and her children, Loni Gawey, husband Patrick, Dawn Rai, husband Lee and Brian Bernardi, wife Ada, along with his grand nieces and grand nephews, Gavin Rai, Violet Rai, Hudson Gawey, Mason Gawey and Melina Bernardi. He is also survived by his sister in law, Denise Tuccitto, brother in law, Joseph Tuccitto, nephew and godson Joseph Tuccitti, nephew Louis Tuccitto and his dog, Diamond Mihalczo. He was predeceased by his mother Alice Gore Mihalczo, his mother in law and father in law, Marie and Louis DeFabiis and his two brother in laws, Ray and Louis DeFabiis. Visiting Hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony’s Church on Tuesday March 7th at 10am. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale.
