Dolores Grohowski

Dolores J. Grohowski (nee DeDivitis), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at the Grove Nursing Home in Valhalla. She was 80 years old. She was born on January 23, 1935 to Americo and Alice Ruggiero DeDivitis in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Grohowski was an administrative assistant at the R.S. Strauss store on McLean Ave. in Yonkers. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. On April 26, 1953, she married her loving husband, Richard C. Grohowski in St. Joseph’s Church in Yonkers. Mr. Grohowski died on Dec. 8, 2004. She is survived by three sons, Richard C., Jr. and his wife Linda of Pompton Lakes, N.J., Robert C. and his wife Stephanie of Yonkers and Ronald C. and his wife Christa of Montgomery, N.Y., one daughter, Deborah DiMiceli and her husband Giovanni of Hawthorne and two sisters, Ida Stewart and Ann DeDivitis. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Turner, Richard III, Jenna Boonthanakit, Steven, Cora, Justin, Nicholas DiMiceli and Christina. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday November 20th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday November 21st at 10:45am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
