

Born on March 14, 1940 to Edward and Ann (Manton) McEnery in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Mr. McErnery was firefighter for the City of Yonkers for over 29 years; retiring in1995. On May 19, 1962 he married Marilyn Stroney in Christ the King Church, she survives living in Yonkers. Scoop was a parishioner of Christ the King, a member of the 140 Club where he served as past president. He coached CYO basketball at Christ the King when they won the State Championship. He also was an avid Met fan. Besides his wife Marilyn, he is survived by three children; Edward (Ana) McEnery of Lake Worth, Florida, Susan (Hugh) Manley of Pleasantville and Nancy (Kevin) Ketterer of Hamilton, N.J. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Stephanie, Steven, Christopher, Allison, Elizabeth, Michael, Kevin, Carly and Jon, and two sisters Eleanor McCole and Evelyn Kocur both of Yonkers. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ann Spring.
Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church on Thursday, August 26th at 10:00 a.m. Committal Service at Ferncliff Chapel.
