
Eleanor M. "Sally" Moynihan, a devoted and kind-hearted soul, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on February 1, 1927, in Yonkers, New York, Eleanor was the cherished daughter of Timothy A. and Eleanor J. Monahan Moynihan. She spent her formative years in Yonkers, attending local schools and graduating from Gorton High School.
Eleanor was a hard-working and thoughtful individual who dedicated over 40 years of her life as a legal secretary at the Wekstein & Friedman Law Firm in Yonkers, retiring in 1999. Her career was marked by her faithfulness and professionalism, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
In her personal life, Eleanor was predeceased by her brother, Timothy W. Moynihan, in 2005. She is survived by her cousin, Fr. Robert Kinnally of New Canaan, Connecticut, who, like many others, will remember her as a devoted and faithful family member.
Eleanor was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, where she was actively involved in her community. Her thoughtful and kind-hearted nature touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew her.
Eleanor M. Moynihan will be remembered for her dedication to her work, her faith, and her unwavering kindness to all those around her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, N.Y. on Thursday December 18th at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Yonkers, N.Y.
