

She was born on May 15, 1937, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, to Pietro and Regina DelMonaco.
Evelina met her husband, Taddeo Vittoria, in Tarrytown, NY, in 1959, and within six months of knowing each other, they were married. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Evelina dedicated her career to her work as a seamstress, a craft she cherished until her retirement.
In her leisure time, Evelina found joy in tending to her garden, creating and hemming clothes, and preparing loving meals for her large family. She treasured the moments spent on vacations and short trips with friends and family, always bringing warmth and joy to those around her. Her strong-mindedness, fighting spirit, and tenacity were hallmarks of her character, traits she lovingly passed down to her family.
Evelina was the heart and soul of her family, a true matriarch who will be greatly missed by her children: Anna Perugini (Joe), John, Rita, Peter (Lori Ann), and Donna. She adored her grandchildren, Chris, Joe, and Kyle, who brought her immense joy.
Evelina is survived by her loving brothers: Mario DelMonaco (Anntoinette), Patsy DelMonaco, and Ivo DelMonaco (Anna). She was predeceased by her husband, Taddeo Vittoria; her brother, Raffaele DelMonaco; and her parents, Regina and Pietro DelMonaco.
Evelina's legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family and friends.
Visiting hours for Evelina will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Rd, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
