

Frances P. Janos (nee Silinsky), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Monday April 8, 2013 at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She was 92 years old. She was born on March 4, 1921 to William and Victoria Popick Silinsky in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Janos enjoyed baking and sewing. On June 29, 1941, she married her loving husband, Matthew Janos in St. Casimir’s Church. Mr. Janos died on September 19, 1996. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Schellati and her husband, Nicholas of Yonkers and one sister, Ruth Pisarz of Dobbs Ferry. She is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Nascarella, six brothers, Andrew, John, Joseph, Michael and Edward Silinsky, Emil Silinski and three sisters, Ethel Keller, Helen Luckasavage and Mary LaVorgna. Visiting Hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Casimir’s Church on Friday April 12th at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 785 Mamaroneck Road, White Plains, N.Y. 10605.
