

He was born on January 5, 1928 to Angelo and Elena Mignano D’Aquila . He was graduated from Saunders Trade and Technical High School and earned an Associates degree from Farleigh Dickenson University. He served in the army from March of 1946 and was honorably discharged in July 1947. He was appointed to the Yonkers Fire Department on April 1, 1956 and retired as a Captain on Sept. 20, 1985. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bartholomew’s Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith, after a loving marriage of 66 years. He is survived by his daughter Gail Saretto of Middletown, NY and a son Frank D’Aquila and his wife Andrea of Brookfield, CT. He was adored by his four grandchildren, Daniel, Gina, Lauren and Jackie and was blessed to see three great grandchildren, Mikaela, Logan and Wyatt. Frank enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching the horses run at Yonkers Raceway and playing black jack. He was a huge New York Giants fan and never missed watching a game. In his last years he enjoyed frequenting local restaurants where he was always treated kindly.
