George Della Calce

George F. Della Calce, 89, a lifetime resident of Yonkers, passed away on Sunday September 26, 2021, at his home. Born on February 22,1932, to Josephine (Cerasuolo) and Carlo Della Calce, he was one of 10 children.

He was a graduate of Saunders Trade and Technical School in Yonkers. George went on to serve his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. On August 11, 1954 he was honorably discharged.

George owned and operated several business on Ashburton Avenue in Yonkers. Through the years his pastime were spent cooking, enjoying his family, The Dodgers and his many pets.

He is survived by his 4 children, Dawn McMahon and her husband Mike of Milford, CT, Ann Marie DeMartino of Yonkers, Georgina Gualdino and her husband Anthony, of Briarcliff Manor, NY and George F. Della Calce and his wife, JoAnn of Thornwood, NY and nine beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Hebert, of Poughkeepsie, NY.

George was pre-deceased by his sisters, Lucille Sava, Theresa Mannuccia and Mary DeBlasi and brothers, Gabriel, Vincent ("Jim"), Salvatore ( "Sam"), Anthony and an infant brother.

A funeral Mass will be held at 9:45 am, on Thursday September 30,2021, at St. Joseph's Church, located at 15 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY 10708. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10703
