

Helen Buonamici, a resident of Yonkers for over fifty years, died on Friday May 20, 2016 at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She was 86 years old. She was born on July 28, 1929 to Andrew and Anna Charbis Feyka in Jersey City, N.J. where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Buonamici was a parishioner of Christ the King Church, enjoyed reading and was a great Italian cook. “Her family, especially her grandchildren, were her life.” On May 8, 1954, she married her loving husband, Adolph A. Buonamici in Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Buonamici died on March 29, 2005. Survivors include two daughters, Alisa Reed and her husband, Kenneth of Yonkers and Kim Murray and her husband, Jim of Brookfield, CT and one son, Albert Buonamici and his wife, Elizabeth of White Plains. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Katie, Meghan, Matthew, Andrew, Kristen and Jimmy. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion Brignola and a brother in law, Louis Brignola. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Monday May 23rd at 10am. Entombment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 35 Orchard Street, White Plains, N.Y. 10603.
