

Helen Szulhan (Imrich) 85 of Yonkers, N.Y. passed on November 25, 2013 after a long term illness with her family at her bed side. Helen was born on April 12, 1928 to Mary and George Imrich, a family of eight children. She was a lifelong resident of Yonkers attending Commerce High School. Upon graduation, she was employed as a bookkeeper at E.Rabinou and Company in Yonkers. She worked there until early retirement and then she did volunteer work at Yonkers General Hospital gift shop and also served as parish secretary at both Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church both in Yonkers. Helen was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Yonkers. On February 24, 1952 she married Stephan Szulhan in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. Stephan was a self-employed landscaper having his own business in Yonkers and Riverdale and, Helen was also the bookkeeper of his business. Helen is survived by her son Stephen G. and is wife Maria of Yonkers, her brother Edward Imrich and Anna Imrich of Tampa, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Stephan, brothers, John, George and Joseph Imrich, sisters Margaret (Imrich), Danna, and Mary Imrich Waclaw. Visiting hours will be at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Friday, From 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Oakland Cemetery. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Fund, 60 Mulberry Street, Yonkers, N.Y. 10701.
