Italia "Dolly" Cerbone

Italia (Dolly) Cerbone, 85, of Hartsdale, New York (formerly of the Bronx), passed away on September 23, 2010 after a brief illness at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY. She was born on October 11, 1924 in Massachusetts to the late John & Maria (Rampone) Celli. She was predeceased by her husband Henry J. Cerbone, Sr. She worked side by side with her husband at their bakeries in the Bronx and Rye Brook, New York. Dolly enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed going to Atlantic City, New Jersey and playing the slot machines. Dolly’s greatest joy in life was her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her three loving children, Lana Fahey and her husband Al of Willington, CT, Henry Cerbone Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Yonkers, NY and Angela Salvato and her husband Dominick of North Salem, NY, her grandchildren, Marc & Cathy Santoro, Lisa & Kevin Steffano, Jason & Beth Cerbone, Alana Fahey & Joe Proulx, A.T. Fahey & Amanda DePellegrini, Matthew Cerbone, Alexa Salvato and Luke Salvato, her great grandchildren, Natalia Surdam, Dante Santoro, Matt Steffano, Alec Surdam, Gabriella Santoro, Juliana Surdam, Aidan Santoro, Nicholas Cerbone, Mason DePelligrini and Tyler Proulx. Dolly is also survived by her loving sister, Mary Esposito, her deepest friends, Jo Griffo and Josephine Piacentile and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Calvary Hospital for making her final days comfortable. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday September 26, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday September 27, 2010 at 9:30 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 65 Winterhill Road, Tuckahoe, NY. Interment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
