

He is survived by his son James W. Ahearn Jr. and daughter Alison Ahearn, as well as his sisters Maryanne, Peggy, and Eileen.
James was born in Yonkers and attended Christ the King school, Stepinac High School, and graduated from Gorton High School.
He served as a police officer in the Yonkers Police Department from 1995 until his retirement after serving one year with Mount Vernon PD. Before his time in the YPD, he spent his time working as a skilled carpenter and tradesman. He always kept his hands busy with a project.
He is preceded in death by his brother Joseph Ahearn, father Joseph Ahearn, and mother Anne Loretta Ahearn (née Ryan).
James was a dearly beloved father, friend, and uncle to several nieces and nephews. He loved to have fun and was always the funniest person in the room. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, Chapel "A," in Yonkers, New York, on December 3, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Christ the King Church, located at 740 N Broadway in Yonkers, on December 4, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A private cremation will follow.
