Joseph A. Galante

Joseph Anthony Galante, Jr. passed away on July 20, 2013 at his residence in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. Know to his family and friends as Little Joe, he was born on July 15, 1947 in Yonkers to Joseph and Lavina (nee Brue) Galante. Joe attended St Mary's School in Yonkers and St. Joseph's Preparatory in Barrytown. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his Masters from Catholic University. Prior to his retirement, Joe worked as a Systems Analysts for Verizon in Rockland County. Joe thoroughly enjoyed his years of retirement and spent his days volunteering at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, looking for property to buy and flipping houses. He was an active member on the Board of Masthope Community, where he resided. Joe loved the outdoors and spent hours every day, walking and visiting with friends. He was a a beloved son and brother. He is survived by his sister Marie, her family and many friends. There will be a funeral mass on Thursday July 25, 2013 at St. Anthony's Church in Yonkers with cremation to follow at Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale, New York.
