Joseph J Osika

Joseph, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, was born February 7, 1951 to Joseph Vincent Osika and Helen Tkach Osika. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1969 he enlisted in the United States National Guard. Joseph worked in the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 35 years and retired in 2004.

Joseph married Carollee Osika on September 1, 1973 at Most Holy Trinity in Yonkers, NY. He is survived by his wife, Carollee; his sons Joseph (wife- Nicole Osika) and Edward Osika (wife – Kaitlyn Osika) as well as his daughters, Nancy Devitt (husband – Sean Devitt) and Susan Flores (late husband – Brian Flores); his 7 grandchildren: Alexa Jade Devitt, Joseph Anthony Osika, Madison Rose Flores, Ava Marie Flores, Sean Michael Devitt, Michaela Brielle Osika, and Noelle Kayleigh Osika. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Osika. Joseph is preceded in death by his son, Michael Osika, and his sister Arline Komosinski.

Joseph, a sports lover, was a big fan of the LA Rams, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He loved golf, listening to music, and sitting in the sun while on family vacations in Cape May. His favorite pastime was spending time with his dog, Amos, and all his grandchildren.

Joseph’s visitation will be held on Sunday May 7, 2023 from 4-8pm at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers, NY. Funeral mass will be held 9:30am on Monday May 8, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, NY, followed by his burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers, NY.
