

Julia Perich (nee Dragan) of Yonkers died on Thursday May 31, 2012 at the age of 93. She was born on January 4, 1919 to Wasyl and Anastasia Dragan in Rozdziele, Ukraine. She worked as an assembler for the Precision Valve Corp. in Yonkers. In 1945, she married Nikolaus Perich in Germany. He died in 1973. Julia was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, a thirty year member of the Sacred Heart Society at St. Michael’s and served as their president for twenty five years. She was also a former member of the Ukrainian women’s choir under the direction of the late Mr. Stepanczyk. Her devotion to her church and her family were most important in her life. She enjoyed her garden; flowers were her passion. Mrs. Perich is survived by her three children Irene (Yaroslaw) Skalij of Waterford, N.Y., Myron (Yaroslawa) Perich of Yonkers and Bohdan (Jacqueline) Perich of Monsey. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Evening service will be held at 7 PM. Funeral Service will be held in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on Monday June 4th at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to either St. Michael’s Church or the Calvary Fund.
