

Lula D. Lima (nee Jackson), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She was 69 years old. She was born on December 5, 1946 to Warren R. and Arlener Scott Jackson in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School in 1965. Mrs. Lima worked at General Motors in Tarrytown, NY as an assembly line worker for 16 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Institutional A.M.E. Zion Church in Yonkers and volunteered for many years at the Salvation Army in Yonkers and at the Yonkers Dept. of Parks and Recreation. She enjoyed singing, music, arts & crafts, making clothing and jewelry and writing poetry. She also enjoyed dancing and taught dancing at both her church and the Dept. of Parks & Recreation. On July 18, 1967, she married her loving husband, Eduardo F. Lima Sr. in Yonkers. Mr. Lima died in 1989. Mrs. Lima is survived by two sons: Eduardo F. Lima Jr. (Ret. Sgt. U.S. Air Force) of St. Louis, Missouri and Ricardo F. Lima of Bronx, N.Y; three daughters: Danielle Gregory of Fishkill, N.Y., Genette Toone of Yonkers and Cidalia F. Delgado of Bridgeport, CT; two sisters: Sydney Potillo of Yonkers and Ruthie Greene of St. Louis. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews and 2 special friends Ree and Vee. She was predeceased by three brothers: Warren (lucky) R. Jr., George R. and Cornell H. Jackson and a sister, Camille (Cookie) Jackson. Visiting hours will be at Institutional A.M.E. Zion Church on Tuesday September 6th 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Final viewing will be held at Institutional A.M.E. Zion Church on Wednesday September 7th at 10 - 11am, Funeral Service will follow immediately after. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
