Manuel Pereira Sr. of Mt. Vernon died on Monday January 23, 2012 at age 76. He was born on December 9, 1935 to Adelino and Anna Pereira in Portugal. He worked as a construction laborer for local #60 in Hawthorne, NY. On January 15, 1961 he married Aurora Gomes in Portugal, she survives. Manuel was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yonkers. Besides his wife Aurora; he is survived by his 2 sons Manuel L. Pereira of Mt. Vernon and Adelino Pereira of Yonkers. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren; Susan, Deonna, Luis and Raquel; his 2 brothers Joseph and Armando and his sister Lourdes Fernandes. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Albano and Antonio. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Our Lady of Fatima Church, South Broadway on Friday January 27th at 10am. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
