Dear Nanny,  

It's been 1 year ago today, God called you home.  I miss you more today than I did yesterday and I'll miss you more tomorrow than I do today.  I wish I could hold your warm hands and get into bed and hold you like I always did.  I wish I could feel your velvety skin and mocha cheeks and kiss your forehead, like I always did.  I wish I could hear your sassy voice just once again and tell you I LOVE YOU and you tell me YOU LOVE ME TOO.  This has been a hard year without you, I miss taking care of you, hearing your voice and seeing your beautiful face smiling...I know you're in heaven smiling and know that the Good Lord is watching over me and the family.  You are forever my HEART, my SHE-RO, my QUEEN, my FAVORITE GIRL, my loving grandmother, Nanny.  Each day I look at your picture and upward towards heaven and I say, I just ask the Good Lord to watch over me!  I love and miss you so much.  Love, Jeannette aka your Nettie

Happy 95th Birthday in Heaven to my favorite girl....she's the best one in this whole world.  I was glad I went to visit you and Pop (11/25) on Saturday and wish you both Happy Birthday in Heaven, Together Forever!  I miss you so much and love you always.

It's been five months God called you home and it's the hardest thing in my life deal with each day, my beloved Nanny. I ask God for comfort day to day to deaI with reality that you are not here physically but spiritually you are with us. I miss you so very much Nanny.  I know you're in paradise and sent angels to watch over your family.

Happy 1st Mother's Day in Heaven Nanny.  It just doesn't seem real that you aren't here so that we could celebrate you.I know all of your loved ones are happy you're there with them in heaven, especially Aunt Gin-Gin.(Are you cooking or baking biscuits)??? All of the flowers, cards with scratch lotto tickets and cake (remember the one that "Happy Birthday" instead of Mother's Day) didn't realize the bakery made a mistake until we took out of the box. Lol!  But you enjoyed the cake because it was with from your granddaughter (you know which one... - lol) and it was with love... I went to get you a card last week and broke down in tears twice because I would get you a beautiful card...it was hard for me as the sayings in those cards always reflected my love for you and each word was how much love and joy you were to us.  I'm trying so hard to be strong again, but this just hurts so much not to have you physically here...as I know you're in heaven with Pop watching over us.  I Love and miss you so, so much Nanny.

Happy Mothers Day Nanny. I miss you and love you dearly .

One month ago, you took the Lord's hand and went peacefully to your eternal rest.  I miss you so much Nanny and I  feel your presence with me each and every day everywhere.  God grant me the serenity to get through this difficult time in my life right as I miss my angel.

Dear Nanny, 
You were laid to rest next to your beloved, Arthur C. (Pop) on Monday, March 30, 2015.  What a beautiful service you had just as you would have wanted.  Everything was pink, pink, pink... the family even honored you and wore something pink. 
A beautiful horse drawn carriage (but that wasn't pink) carried you to 334 Riverdale Avenue to say final farewell. The Tuthill Matriach had a police escort all the way to your final resting place at Kensico Cemetery.  The day was beautiful and as you were laid to rest, the sun came out to shine on your beauty. The stone you are laid in is a work of speechless beauty.  Ms. Peggy, you were well respected and will be talked about for ages.  You so deserved to be laid to rest as the 94 year old queen  you are.
I ask God to continue to comfort and strengthen our family as this is so hard to bear right now, but thank God for grace and peace day by day.

My Dearest Mom/Mother Darling,
       I love you and will miss you very much, you brought love, joy and jokes in my life and I brought you stories.  I would call and say "I am running a little late and I will be there in about an hour or so.. okay" (an hour would pass, two hours would pass three hours would pass) when I got there you would say" I thought you said an hour Ceil", and I would reply "but mom, you know I work slow and you know that I'm your favorite daughter...but that's another story".  I love it and I love you, "go on girl, don't worry be happy". Your loving (favorite) daughter, Ceil.

Hey nannie i know that ur up there with pop,uncle james, my dad, uncle butch. Now u can help aunt gin to keep them in control. I love you sooooo much it's hard to say goodbye so im say see u later you always said never say goodbye so i don't.( i still have ur sugar. Hey nanny its kira. This is so hard for me to write this but to know i have a beautiful angel watching over me and the family, im at ease. U lived a long and prosperous life and u was a beautiful woman. I know you are not here physically but spiritally i know you are right by our sides. We love you & tell aunt gin gin i said hey girl!  You may now rest in peace (Yes, I know, "don't tell you what to do!) You no longer have to worry about the boy under the bed playing around, or the folks in the TV watching you dress! ( Yes that was pretty funny!). You raised a large family and helped many raise families of their own. You are already missed and are loved for always in our hearts.  I love you and will reflect on the many cherished moments we've shared. Your Grand daughter - I know you're asking "now which one are you?"..."that damn little twin" (smile)

Hi nanny was just visiting my dad on Whalen and ball website and came across your name. Nanny I know you loved your life to the fullest and I hope I can reach your age and have so much wisdom as you had . I am proud to say I had a great grandmother I was able to see and enjoy not many people can say that but I am proud to say I did. As you may see the family is already falling apart I know that will not make your happy but that's the life we all have to live now I love you nanny and I know you are up there in heaven being the queen you was just hope you told my dad how much pain we all are going through down here . Dear Nanny, you are now in heaven with Pop your beloved husband and all others you missed so dearly.  I am sad to let you go so soon from me but God saw you getting tired and gave you rest.  We took such great care of you while you were here with us.  I will always cherish our loving bond, so special to me.  I took care of you as you took care of me for all of my life.  I'll take care of Michele as you told me to do and together we'll take care of Aunt Ceil. This is so hard to for me but I will get through it with God's love.  I love and miss you honey.
