Maria Reis of Yonkers died on Monday May 2, 2016 at age 83. She was born on March 8, 1933 to Joaquim and Natividade Ferreira in Portugal where she was raised. Maria married Amandio Reis in Portugal in 1951. They moved thier family to the United States so their children could have a better life. Her husband Amandio passed away in 1993. She is survived by her 8 children; Carlos Amandio Reis and wife Licinia, Natalia Belricho and husband Manuel, Jorge Reis and wife Nela, Celeste Costa and husband Jorge, David Reis and fiancée Kelly, John Reis and wife Fernanda, Joe Reis and wife Stephanie, Rui Reis and wife Carla, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Our Lady of Fatima Church on Thursday at 10am with interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
