Early in the morning of December 24th, Marion hitched a ride on the Christmas Star to meet her Maker. Five score, two months and a day shy of a fortnight. May God keep her and hold her in the palm of his hand. Born October 11, 1920 in Yonkers N.Y. to William and Catherine Ludrick, went to Heaven early on Christmas Eve morning. She is survived by her six sons; Robert, Frank (Donna),Peter (Ann),Paul (Lynn),Michael (Marie) John, and daughter Kathy Cremins (Jeff), fifteen grandchildren Christy (Paul Perme), Tory Downey (Mark), Robert (Kim), Ryan, Laura (Rio), Meredith Zapp (Lou), Andrew, Megan DeOliveira (Mat), Mark, Charles (Ashley), Matthew, John (Cori), Katie, Kevin, Jill Cremins Lane (Dalton) and sixteen great grandchildren, Cassidy, Ryder, Patrick, Christopher, Katie, Jonathan, Tyler, Haley Jane, Arden, Granger, Cruz, Brady, Logan, Cody, Quentin and Connor. Marion’s life was one of family, friendship, faith and service. She loved any opportunity to be involved with her children, grand children and more recently her youngest great grand children. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger. She was devoted to her Catholic faith serving many roles and devoting countless hours to her home parish of Sacred Heart. These efforts were recognized by the Capuchin Friars when she was made a Capuchin affiliate; a rare honor reserved for individuals considered models of Christianity. She was fiercely independent; still driving into her nineties and living on her own until age ninety-nine. Heaven welcomed a most worthy soul this morning. Marion Klein Rutledge—a life well lived; a reward well deserved. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 3-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Monday December 28th at 9:30am. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
