Mary Ann Matthews

Mary Ann was born on December 12, 1937, in Yonkers to Anna and Joseph Meyer. She remained in Yonkers her entire life where she went to school and worked until her retirement from Precision Valve. In 1961 Mary Ann and James Matthews were married and went on to have one child, Kathy.

Mary Ann was well known for enjoying life’s pleasures. She looked forward to her day trips with close friends to explore local shops, markets, and try different restaurants. She liked to socialize and would strike up a conversation with anyone at any time. Mary Ann would always make a point to ask about the well being of others. She delighted in the chance to watch her granddaughters participate in any activities and to be part of their lives.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents, Anna and Joseph Meyer, and siblings Joseph and John. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (husband Peter Ciccotelli), her grandchildren Alyssa (husband Christopher Fenimore), Michelle (Bo Krucik), and Julianna, and her great grandchild, Logan. She is also survived by additional siblings Ethel, Elizabeth, and Robert.

A memorial mass will be held on December 14 at 10 AM – Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY. There will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org)
