

Mary Romanchik (nee Ferraro) on July 5, 2012. Mary was born on February 9, 1920 in Yonkers to Michael and Rose Ferraro. She married Nicholas Romanchik in Our Lady of Carmel Church in Yonkers on April 28, 1946. Nicholas predeceased her on July 9, 1976. Mary worked at Alexander Smith Carpet before becoming a cafeteria manager with the Yonkers Board of Education where she was the first non teacher to win the Jenkins award. Mary loved her sports especially her New York teams, she also was a well known for her ironing skills. Mary is survived by her son Nicholas (Maureen), daughters, Roseanne Romanchik and Mary Tornese, grandsons Nicholas and Frank Tornese and her brother Michael Ferraro (Joyce). Besides her husband Nicholas, Mary is predeceased by her daughter Suzanne, and brothers Nicholas, Eugene and John Ferraro. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral on Sunday July 8th.
From 2 – 4 & 7 – 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Bartholomews Church on Monday July 9th. At 11am with Interment to follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.
