Mary Sheeran

Mary Sheeran (nee Hickey), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Friday November 29, 2013 at Cabrini of Westchester in Dobbs Ferry. She was 79 years old. She was born on September 30, 1934 to Michael and Josephine Murphy Hickey in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from St. Joseph Grade School and Commerce High School. Mrs. Sheeran was a secretary for Liberty Lines in Yonkers from 1982 to 1997 when she retired. She previously worked as a secretary for General Foods in White Plains. She was a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Church and enjoyed dancing and Irish music. On May 6, 1967, she married her loving husband, Patrick Sheeran Jr. in St. Peter’s Church in Yonkers. Mr. Sheeran survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Patrick Sheeran III and his wife Denise of Pawling, NY and James Sheeran and his wife Jessica of Park Ridge, NJ, three brothers, James, Michael and Thomas Hickey all of Yonkers and two sisters, Margaret Deneher of Pequannock, NJ and Kathleen Bergin of Pearl River, NY. She is also survived by four grandchildren. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Tuesday December 3rd at 10am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
