
Robert Michael Bennett, 81, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died February 18, 2015 with family by his side. Bob was born in Yonkers, N.Y. in 1933 to William and Frances Bennett. He served in the US Army during the Korean War as an Infantryman. Upon his honorable discharge, he entered the University of Rhode Island where he majored in Biology. He later became a high school science teacher at Hastings High School. He was an avid opera fan and part owner of Thoroughbred Persian Night and other winners at Meadowlands and Monmouth racetracks. He is survived by his wife of forty eight years Margot Bennett, his two sons Michael and David and their spouses, his brother William and sisters Carole and Mary along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Bennett.
