

Born on August 29, 1948, in New Rochelle, N.Y., he was the son of the late Dominick and Catarina (Borri) Balotti. Sammy was raised and educated in New Rochelle, where he grew up alongside his twelve older siblings. After graduating, he honorably served his country as an E-4 Specialist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
After his service, Sam married his loving wife of 51 years, Susan (Zappia) Balotti. They settled in Yonkers, where they raised their three beloved children whom he cherished Renee (Jamie), Joseph (Nereida), and Laura. Sam also cherished his grandchildren, Joseph, Juliana, and Santino.
Sam was a man of devotion, not only to his family but also to his community. He was actively involved in the North Yonkers Boys and Girls Club, where he coached his children’s sports teams and organized numerous fundraising events to support the programs.
Sam was a talented cook and baker whose passion for creating memorable meals brought joy to all who had the privilege of sharing them. Whether preparing a traditional Italian Sunday dinner for his family or crafting beloved holiday feasts for friends and loved ones, Sam’s culinary creations were made with love and care and are legendary. His kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable flavors, where every dish was a reflection of his generous spirit and deep devotion to those he cared for. His legacy will live on in the many meals and cherished memories he left behind.
Professionally, Sam worked for over 20 years with the New York Telephone Company, then went on to own and operate a catering business with his wife. Later in life, he served as the Bakery Manager at several Shop Rite’s in Connecticut, where he was able to share his culinary passion.
Sam will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, N.Y. 10703 on Saturday November 1st at 11am. Final disposition will be private.
