Sebastian Joseph Gruppuso

Sebastian “Joe” Gruppuso, 74, a longtime Yonkers resident passed away on Sunday August 20, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born in the Bronx, NY on September 18, 1942 to Salvatore J. and Loretta Callari Gruppuso. Joe married Grace Duncanson on October 17, 1964 in Annunciation Church in Yonkers. He was the owner for many years of the Gruppuso Plumbing Corp. until his retirement. He was a merit member of the Armando Rauso Post of Yonkers and a Past President of the Northeast Kiwanis Club. Joe was a parishioner and longtime usher of Christ the king Church. He loved music and dancing, especially with his wife. Joe loved spending time with his grandchildren including yearly trips to the Bronx Zoo. He is survived by his wife Grace, 3 children Salvatore J. (Carole) Gruppuso of Yorktown Heights, NY, Stephen (Andrea) Gruppuso of Yorktown Heights, NY and his daughter Loretta Gruppuso (Csaba Kisgyorgy) of Mahopac, NY, one sister Rosaria Colosi of Florida, sister-in-law Mary Jane Duncanson and 4 grandchildren Joseph, Sofia, Victoria and Luke, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday August 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Christ the King Church on Wednesday August 23rd at 10am. Entombment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Memorial donations can be made in his name to Calvary Hospice 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY 10461.
