Teresa Cardone

Our loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother was called into eternal peace on March 20, 2011 at age 76. She was born on March 29, 1934 to Alexander and Victoria Congionti Rubeo in Rome, Italy and raised in Tagliaozzo. Teresa married Joseph Cardone on September 21, 1957 in Italy; they moved to Yonkers in 1958. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed gardening and was a huge soccer fan; she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Teresa is survived by her husband Joseph a son Robert (Kari) of Darien, Ct. a daughter Lorena (David) Simko, of Yonkers, NY, 4 grandchildren Andrew, Jared, Nicholas and Kira; 1 brother and 1 sister, she was predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday March 22, 2011 from 4-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at 10am, entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Teresa’s name may be sent to St. John’s Riverside Hospital or American Diabetes Foundation. Teresa’s family would like to express their gratitude to all of her Doctors and Nurses for their hard work, compassion and dedication that helped our mother throughout her later years. Also would like to thank her wonderful friends for their daily phone calls and loyalty to our mother.
