

Born on December 16, 1937, in Yonkers, Bill was the son of the late John and Mary (Sullivan) Troy. A lifelong resident of Yonkers, he shared 59 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Robertson.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, and Papa. He is predeceased by his cherished daughter, Colleen (1971), and is survived by his loving children: daughter Kerri-Anne and her husband Scott Librandi; son Timothy and his wife Tia; and daughter Kelli-Anne and her husband John Huxta. He took great pride in his family and found immense joy in his six grandchildren: Connor, Liam, Malachi, Mariah, Tyler, and Riley Elizabeth.
Bill is also survived by a wonderful extended family, including his sister-in-law, Sue Troy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Clare and Tom Dwyer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Maureen and Richard Houlihan; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Jean Robertson, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers, John and Deacon Patrick Troy; his sister, Frances Troy McDonagh; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Troy; brothers-in-law John, James and Edward Robertson and his nephew, Scott Troy.
Bill graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1955. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force starting in 1955, stationed in France, and was honorably discharged in 1964.
He worked at Con Edison for 43 years and later served as the City of Yonkers Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Coordinator for 10 years. At the time of his passing, he continued his important work as an EAP Coordinator under the Troy Agency. Bill was also a certified Defensive Driving Instructor and First Aid/CPR trainer.
He was a proud and active member of several organizations, including VFW Post 1666, the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Division 1 Myles Scully Division, and Labor Assistance Professionals. He was a board member of NYFAC (New York Federation of Alcohol Counselors), Co-founder and President of Mid-Hudson Alcoholism Counselors Association (1977-1993), Co-founder and President of TMB Associates, a not-for-profit licensed day rehab in Yonkers, Co-founder and President of JRW Institute of Alcoholism Studies, a not-for-profit chartered by NYS Board of Education, located in Yonkers. He served as President of the Holy Name Society and was honored to be an Aide in the Yonkers St. Patrick’s Day Parade—roles that reflected his deep commitment to faith, community, and Irish heritage.
Bill was affectionately known by many names—Dad, Papa, Uncle Bill, Uncle Biggie, and “The Body Snatcher.” He will be remembered for his quick wit, big heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and community. His presence brought joy, humor, and comfort to all who knew him.
His legacy of service, compassion, and love will continue to inspire all those whose lives he touched.
Visiting hours for William will be held Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703. Interment will follow St Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Bill’s daughter, Colleen, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
