Clifton E Smith

Born June 15, 1934 in York, he was a son of the late Elvin J. Smith, Sr. and the late Lovina (Strausbaugh) Smith. Mr. Smith served in the US Navy during the Korean War and worked as an assembler for Cole Steel. He was also a member of the Hawk Gunning Club.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mr. Smith is survived by three daughters, Carmen D. Burkhardt, and her husband Charles, Pamela L. Williams, and her husband Clarence "Fuji", and Jody R. Smith, all of York; three grandchildren, Chad Burkhardt, Chris Burkhardt, and Amanda Sierotowicz; and five great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan M. Burkhardt; three sisters; and a brother.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Semmel Chapel of Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, with the Rev. Dr. Kevin Frain officiating. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
