

Stewartstown - On Friday, June 1, 2018, LeRoy W. "Butch" King, Jr., 72, passed away at home. He was the husband of Jane H. (Medford) King, who passed November 3, 1998. Butch was born February 23, 1946 in Baltimore to the late LeRoy W. King, Sr. and the late Dorothy (Stegman) LaTulipe. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam era, being discharged at the rank of Sergeant in 1972. Butch was a devout Christian and enjoyed listening to old traditional hymns. He was also proud to be a retired Lieutenant from Baltimore County Fire Department. In his spare time, Butch enjoyed honing his woodworking and carpentry skills. He was also known for his humor and was frequently telling jokes.
He is survived by his children, Kevin W. King, Karen J. Toomey and husband, Sean, and Krista L. Linares; four grandchildren, Quinlan, Shannon, Joshua and Isaiah.
A public viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5 at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 12 p.m. Entombment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
