Bobby Ray Wiley, 88, passed away December 22, 2016. Born in Hillsboro, Texas, Bob grew up on a farm before leaving to enlist in the Navy. He spent much of his service stationed in post-WWII Japan, and later joined the Air Force. During this time, he came to Williams Field, east of Chandler. After leaving military service, Bob remained in Arizona and took on a career in property and title work, eventually becoming an escrow officer. He married Carcella M. Suits, and they remained together for over 50 years. Throughout his life, Bob was a diligent man, attentive to the needs of those important to him, and forever inquisitive; he found the world’s complexities wondrous, and always sought to better understand its many facets. These are traits he instilled in those survived by him, including his daughter, Celeste, step-son, Joey, as well as his three grandchildren, Joshua, Sean, and Christian. He will be sorely missed. In previous years, Bob opened conversations with his grandson, Josh, by bragging, “No jealous husbands have shot me yet.” In the end, it was not a jealous husband but cancer that took him. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to support his family can do so by donating to the Cancer Research Institute. A Graveside Service for Bob will be held on Fri., Dec. 30, at 1 p.m., at West Resthaven Memorial Park, 6450 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, AZ. Care entrusted to Advantage Golden Door Chapel, 11211 W. Michigan Ave. Youngtown, AZ.
