

Jerome Henry Matter passed away Friday January 20, 2017 in Sun City, AZ at the age of 82. Jerome was born in Jackson, WI on November 26, 1934, the son of late Frank and Minnie (Kannenberg) Matter. He married the love of his life of 60 years to, Donna Engeleiter on July 14, 1956, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend, WI and was an active member in the church and school. He had a passion for singing praises to the Lord which will always be remembered. Jerome served in the US Army from 1958-1960. He was employed at Gehl Company and retired from Bend Industries. After retiring, Donna and Jerome moved to Sun City, AZ in 2004. He enjoyed spending time in his work shop, golfing, listening to polka music, playing cards with family & friends, and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered by his boisterous laugh and cheerful smile. Jerome was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. Jerome is survived by his wife, Donna; sons Brian (Sheryll) of Campbellsport, WI and Daryl (Iris) of Lebanon, WI and daughters Tammy of Lexington, KY and Penny (Bruce) Spaeth of Renton, WA; grandchildren Nathan Matter, Eric (Nelita) Matter, Jessica (Kevin) Soyk, Parker Matter; Evan Matter, Nicholas Matter, Emily Matter; Devon Matter, Morgan Clyse, Taylor Clyse, Lauren Lemberger; Kayla Spaeth and Cameron Spaeth; great-grandchildren Audianna, Temperence, Reddington, Fletcher, Paislee, Hunter and Lincoln. He is further survived by his sister Evelyn Guhl and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Elroy, Roman, Merl, Earl, and Beatrice. Any memorials are appreciated to the family and will be donated to the Sunshine Service of Sun City, AZ, a non-profit organization lending medical equipment to residents of Sun City, AZ which helped in meeting many needs for Jerome.
