Died July 7, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona at Hospice of the Valley

Betty Isenhart-Shepard, Ron Shepard, and his 2 faithful dogs, Bobo and Luke, who are from Sun City, Arizona. His son, Kevin Isenhart and wife Karla of Chandler, Arizona. His stepson, Tom Ostring, and wife Amy, 2 grandchildren, Ethan and Sydney Ostring, his sisters Wanda Thomas Adel, and Janice Jones Adel of Grimes, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Maxine Isenhart, and brother Dennis Isenhart.
He graduated from Linden High School and worked on the family farm until going to work at AMF MFG, in Des Moines, Iowa. He worked there until they sold the company and was transferred to Murray Outdoor products in Jackson, Tennessee, where he retired in 2000 after working 42 years with the company.
He was an industrial engineer, Shriner, and a Mason.
Ike was a good, fun loving person who had a large circle of friends that were also like family to him. He hosted a yearly Corn Feed event for many years. He was always there with all his friends, starting at the crack of dawn with a pickup, loaded with fresh picked corn, and went will after dark. With friends, family, food, cold beer and memories, it was a labor of love for all of them.
Ike had many illnesses over the years, but was always accompanied with Betty by his side, even after a divorce. His last 7 years, Betty and Ron were his caregivers. The last 5, he fought bladder cancer and had Alzheimer’s. He never complained, just took the good with the bad. He enjoyed his life and lived it very well. The last 8 years, he also attended Lucy’s Ann Place daycare for Alzheimer’s patients, and loved it. They were wonderful with him and again, he found another family that he had till the end.
We were all blessed by his friendship and love.
