Malcolm “Slingshot” Cathcart passed away peacefully in Sun City, AZ on February 10, 2013. Malcolm was born April 24, 1930 to Ophelia and Charles Cathcart in Bogata, TX. Malcolm was a retired Marine. He served during the Korean conflict and retired with two Purple Hearts after 20 years of service. After his military retirement he was a Farrier (Horseshoeing). Malcolm is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cathcart; daughter Sharon Greer; sons Joel Cathcart (Alana) and John Carthcart (Heidi) and step son and daughter Gene (Elaine) Bayer and Sheri (Tom) Davey; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and his sisters Eldeva Huddleston and Lucy Lewis. Graveside services, with full Military Honors will be held on Friday at 9:00am, February 15, 2013, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
