Margaret Lou Baxter, of Sun City Arizona, passed away in April 4 2026, surrounded by the love of her sister-in-law Sue and Kim. She was born on December 11, 1955, to Wanda June (Fordyce) and James Wilfred Pigg.
Margaret married Clinton Neighbors on December 15, 1973. Together they had five children, who became the center of her world. Though their marriage later ended, her devotion to her family never did—being a mother and grandmother was the role she cherished most.
She is survived by her children: Chrystal Neighbors Perkins (Clyde Rogers), Carl (Angela) Neighbors, Carol Neighbors Sublett, Wendy Neighbors, and Jonathan Neighbors.
Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren: Kaisee (Matt) Lovercamp, Allen (Lexie) Neighbors, Quincy (Jessica) Neighbors, Nicholas Carter, Austin (Kaylee) Perkins, Lucas (Rieley) Neighbors, Zachary Carter, Whitney (Ryan) Metcalf, Demi Calhoun, Christopher Carter, Blaine Perkins, Remington Neighbors, and Arah Neighbors.
She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Adaline and Gus Neighbors; Andee and Owen Lovercamp; Kaizer and Kameron Perkins; Lynnie and Kinslee Neighbors; and Leeland Metcalf. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she loved them deeply.
She is also survived by Clifford Baxter; her siblings, Anna Katherine “Kay” Fowler and Gary Pigg; and her sister-in-law, Sue Baxter (Kim), with whom she shared a truly special bond—one built on love, laughter, and years of cherished memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved grandson, Sean Raven Calhoun; and her siblings, Virginia Ruth Turnbaugh, Mary Louise Chapman, Barbara Jane Pigg, Wilfred Wayne Pigg, Leroy Pigg, Jay Lee Pigg, Mike Pigg, James Pigg, and Edwin Pigg.
Margaret found joy in the simple things—watching wrestling, cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks, and staying loyal to the Kansas City Chiefs no matter where life took her.
She was an active part of her community during her years in Green City. While she and Cliff owned Cliff’s Custom Exhaust, she was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and also dedicated her time to the Green City Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary. She also worked at ConAgra Brands in Milan, where she formed connections and friendships that stayed with her through the years. She took pride in supporting her community and being involved wherever she could.
In her final days during her hospital stay, Margaret’s strength and spirit never faded. Each time she had labs drawn, she would say, “suck it up, Grandma,” often telling the nurses her grandson told her that—because he had to go through it all the time. Even then, she found a way to bring humor and love into the moment.
Margaret had a strong spirit and an even stronger love for her family. She could be tough and a little stubborn at times, but everything she did came from a place of love. She showed up when she could, she cared deeply, and she made sure her family always knew they mattered.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held on May 30th at 2:00 PM at the Scout Building in Unionville Missouri. The service is open to the public. Casual attire is encouraged, and all who attend are invited to bring memories to share in honor of Margaret’s life. Food and fellowship will follow.
Our mothers start our lives by holding us close…
and one day, it becomes our turn to hold them.
