It is with deep sadness and joy that we are announcing the death of Whitney Russell Benson, 89, on Friday, July 1st, 2022 at banner Boswell Hospital in Sun City, Arizona. Whitney was born in Salem, Oregon to Lynton and Adelaide Benson. He graduated from Salem High School, Oregon State University and the American Institute of Foreign Trade. After service in the US Navy, he worked with his father in the baking business. He then worked in the medical sales industry and management of retirement communities. Whitney will be missed by his family, golfing buddies, and members of Faith Presbyterian Church. Whitney is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Craig Benson and daughter Paige Huchro; and stepchildren, Crispin Dippel and Heather Dine. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, and Jake Dippel, Nicholas and Taylor Huchro and Moriah Benson. A celebration of Life will be held on August 6th, 2022 at 10am at Faith Presbyterian Church in Sun City.
