Joann Kelly Davis

Joann Kelly Davis passed away peacefully in her sleep early on the morning of February 7, 2022, at her home in Yucaipa, CA. She was born in Temple, TX on April 12, 1933. Joann was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hubert Davis. After moving from Texas to California in 1966 she and the family resided in El Segundo, Carson and Yucaipa. Joann has always been very involved in her local church and shortly after their move to El Segundo, she began working as the secretary at the United Methodist Church of El Segundo. She went on to have a long and successful career as the Business Manager of the El Segundo Unified School District. She retired in 1997 and she and Hubert quickly moved to Yucaipa to be close to their family. Joann and Hubert enjoyed traveling, but most of all they loved doing anything with their family. From “Team Mom” to “Poet Extraordinaire”, she was loved and admired by all who knew her.

Joann is survived by her daughter, Vicki O’Connor of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter Judi Dennistoun and her husband, Bill, of Yucaipa, CA; sister, Katherine Locklin of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren and their spouses – Mary & Michael Fugh, Matt & Andrea Dennistoun, Marc & Jody Dennistoun and Brad & Bethany Dennistoun; and 17 great-grandchildren, and her very first great-great grandchild, who is due in September 2022. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tim O’Connor of Yucaipa.

A memorial service is planned in her honor on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Yucaipa. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the United Methodist Church of Yucaipa (35177 Beech Avenue, Yucaipa, CA 92399) or to the “Dollar Club” of Active Church Yucaipa (12954 Bryant Street, Yucaipa, CA 92399)
