Our family has lost its strong center. Bonnie Adele Robinson passed on January 6, 2025, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 12, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Edgar and Laverne Fry (deceased). The Fry family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1960 and Bonnie went on to earn a Bachelor’s in Science and Business Administration with a Major in Marketing from Northern Arizona University. She settled in Yuma during the early seventies, worked for a short while for the Cocopah Indian Reservation, was a Professor of Accounting at Arizona Western College for 25 years, and retired as Accounting Supervisor from the City of Yuma after 27 years.
Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love made her the heart of her family. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, John Robinson of Yuma, her two loving daughters, Felisa Taylor (Shane Barthelme) of Phoenix, and Juliane Castro of Sedona, three wonderful grandchildren, Justine Castro (Matthew Ponce), Jocelyn Taylor, and Jack (Leslie) Taylor, all of Yuma, her two brothers Edward Fry of Phoenix and Richard (Gerda) Fry of Bad Vilbel, Germany and numerous nephews and nieces. Her legacy of love, humor, kindness and a zest for life will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.
Bonnie was known for her great sense of humor, brightening the lives of everyone around her with her quick wit and infectious laughter. She found immense joy in traveling yearly to Flagstaff and the California coast. She enjoyed creating special memories for her entire family, especially her adored great-grandchildren, Zayne (13), Aubree (8), Olivia (6), Legend (4), and Jaxston (3). She provided never-ending love and support for all of her friends and family. She was truly an angel on earth. Bonnie will be deeply missed but forever remembered as the loving matriarch who brought her family together and filled their lives with joy and laughter.
Please join us at 11am, February 8th at Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Children’s Museum and/or the Humane Society both of Yuma, AZ.
