Christell Taylor Hansberger age 79, passed from this world on Monday, December 19, 2011. She was born June 26, 1932. Although she was born in Hemet, CA, she was a long time Yuma Resident.
Christell dedicated many years of her life to awareness and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse though both volunteer and government appointed positions. Many knew her as Campfire Girl leader, Zontian, Girl Scout leader, Stage Mom, among other titles. Anyone that met her was immediately struck by poise, beauty, and charm.
Christell is survived by her loving husband, Edwin Hansberger; son, Mike Bann; step-sister, Cheryl Williams of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Vanessa Hansberger, Mark Hansberger, Michael Bann and Autumn Sowers; and great –granddaughters, Bethany Anne Penfold and Jocelyn Martin.
Christell was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Colonel Robert Taylor, and daughter, Jocelyn Hansberger.
Services will be held at Johnson Mortuary, on Thursday December 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow at Lute's Casino.
