Concepcion "Ita" Meza

Concepcion Bertha Cristerna Meza (aka Ita), age 86, passed away peacefully with her loved ones on May 2, 2023 at her home in Yuma, AZ. She was born November 9, 1936 in El Rosario Sinaloa, Mexico. Concepcion, her husband Octavio Meza Sr., and children moved to Yuma, AZ in 1971 from San Luis, Mexico.

Concepcion was a strong loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother who devoted her life to serving her family. Concepcion was a woman of faith who led by example by showing her unconditional love and selflessness to everyone she met. Her home was always open and welcoming to her neighbors, friends and family. She loved to crochet, knit, cook, attend church, and be around family and friends.

Concepcion is survived by her Sons, Daughter-in-laws, and Son-in-law: Octavio Meza Jr., Rosa Meza, Enrique Meza, Jose Castanos, Hugo Meza, Ernestina Varela, Leonel Meza, Jaime Meza, and Sissy Meza. Ita is also survived by 26 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, and lots of neices and nephews whom she loved and touched deeply.

Concepcion has reunited in Heaven with her husband, Octavio Meza Sr., daughters Concepcion Meza, Leonor Castanos, Marcia Meza, Grandchildren Octavio Meza III, Alyssa Uribe, and Hugito Meza.

We invite you to join us for her funeral service to honor and celebrate her life. Her Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside gathering will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
