Ernestine C. Perez

Ernestine Cancio Perez born August 28, 1925, the daughter of Pedro Cancio and Maria Flores, in Yuma, Arizona. She was wedded to Manuel Perez, in Yuma Arizona as well. Ernestine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Alex Cancio, Felix Cancio, Mike Cancio, Pete Cancio, Manuel Cancio and Roberto Cancio, sisters Concepcion Camacho, Carmen Ochoa, and children Irene Perez, Raymond Perez, sons in law Alfonso Vasquez and Valente Rico Jr. She is survived by children Frank Perez (Connie), Manuel Perez (Olga), Margaret Vasquez, Irene Pollard (Richard), Edward Perez (Yolanda), Theresa Rico, Rudy Perez, Rita Gonzales, and numerous grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, and companion Severiano Morales.

Ernestine’s love for gardening was a close second to her love of cooking for her family. They will miss her special salsa, tortillas, and tamales. She is also noted for sewing skills and making outfits for her children. Saturday morning loud music to rouse the family will also be missed.

All are invited to Ernestine’s viewing, Thursday evening, June 9, 2016, 5-9PM (Rosary at 7PM) at Funeraria Del Angel Kammann, 795 W 28th Street, Yuma, AZ. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 10, 2016, at 9AM, at Grace Bible Fellowship, 300 S 4th Avenue, Yuma, AZ. Interment in the Garden of Our Lady of Guadalupe at Desert Lawn Memorial Park will follow services. Pastor Kenneth Seltzer will preside over the memorial service. Pallbearers: Ray Perez, Mark Perez, Eddie Vasquez, Rudy Escalante, Leo Koivu, Martin Marmolejo, Albert Perez, and Mario Vasquez. Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Perez, Manuel Perez, Edward Perez, Rudy Perez.
