Frances developed deep-rooted spiritual values, which led her to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 9 in Hope, Arkansas. She soon discovered her God-given talent for expressing her faith through singing. At the age of 10, she performed her first solo titled "He Rose," using her voice to glorify God.
Frances had three children: Sandra Kaye, Sylvia Faye, and Artis Ray. Sadly, Sandra, Artis Jr., and three of her grandchildren preceded her in death. Frances later moved to Wichita, Kansas, to be closer to her family. She joined Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor A.G. Jones, becoming a dedicated member and singing in the choir. She also served in the Women's Missionary Auxiliary.
In 1962, Frances visited Hope, Arkansas, where she reconnected with Verdell Gamble. They married on August 24, 1963, in Hope, after which they moved to Yuma, Arizona, where she resided until her husband's passing in 1980.
After his death, Frances devoted much of her time to raising her four grandchildren, as well as three great-grandchildren, notably raising Jordan Hunter from birth. She was a committed member of the "Rose of Sharon" church, where she served faithfully from 1963 until God called her home.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, A.G. and Thelma Flemings, and her brother Robert. She is survived by her nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 55 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She also cherished her close friendships with Wadie Burton and Jewel Brown.
