Jennifer was born July 14, 1975, in Des Moines, IA to Tom Manly and Laura (Johnston) Manly. In 1979,
one year after the arrival of her brother Chad, the family moved to Castle Rock, CO where Jennifer was
raised. Her parents divorced in 1983. Jennifer’s mother, Laura, later married Ron Stevens, of Castle Rock, CO where they reside today. In 1989 Ron and Laura were blessed with another son, Jeff, who Jennifer just adored.
Jennifer never met a stranger and always did so with her beautiful smile. She loved children, and she
loved animals. Her golden retriever, Sophie, was her constant companion, and like a daughter to her.
Memorials have been set up in Jennifer’s name for both St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the

Jennifer attended public schools in Castle Rock, CO where she participated in various sporting activities.
Her two favorite extracurricular activities included being a member of both the drill team and drama
club. She graduated from Douglas County High School with the class of 1993.
Jennifer had many fond memories of returning to her native Iowa with her brother, Chad, each summer
to spend time at Lake Okoboji with her grandparents, Chuck and Bernie Manly. She also enjoyed visiting
her dad in Denver on the weekends when she was younger and later in the Los Angeles, CA and
Dallas/Fort Wort, TX areas after he was based there with the airlines.
After high school, Jennifer moved to the Denver area. From the time she was a small child, Jennifer
enjoyed helping others, along with having an interest in the health care field. She became a certified
EMT and later worked for many years as a dispatcher for a private ambulance company serving the
Arvada and Boulder, CO areas.
After living in Colorado for most of her life, in 2013, Jennifer opted for a lifestyle change, choosing to move to Southern California. Seven years later, in 2020, she moved to Wellton, AZ to pursue a new opportunity.
Jennifer had experienced numerous health issues in recent years, which were a contributing factor to
her untimely death. She was a devout Christian, who was very active in her church and Bible study
group. While no words can describe our loss, there is great comfort in knowing that she is now pain free
in God’s hands, while being able to continue doing in heaven what she enjoyed most, helping others.
Jennifer is survived by her father Tom Manly, mother Laura Stevens, brother Chad Manly, his wife
Allison, daughter Kate and son Cash, stepfather Ron Stevens, half-brother Jeff Stevens, paternal
grandmother Bernie Manly, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of her family.
A short note from Jennifer’s father, Tom Manly…I would like to thank all of Jennifer’s wonderful friends,
who have contacted us after her passing. I am not a Facebook participant, however, as I’m sure you
know, Jennifer loved Facebook. Many of your beautiful messages have been forwarded. When Jennifer
was little, I used to call her “Daddy’s Little Angel” which she just loved. Today, she is still “Daddy’s Little
Angel.” While we were separated from each other at a young age, we remained very close. We would
talk, email and/or text several times a week. For the past several years, my late fiancé, Joann Wood, and
I would vacation with Jennifer on the beautiful beaches of La Jolla, CA. Jennifer simply adored Joann, an
RN, who was so kind and caring concerning Jennifer’s health issues. We all agreed, those SoCal vacations became our favorite time of the year. As I told her many times… ”Jennifer, you are my favorite
daughter.” Actually, she was my “only” daughter. Thank you again for your kind words and compassion.
She loved all of you so much.

Jennifer Lynn Manly, age 46, of Wellton, AZ, is now with the Lord, passing August 28, 2021. Jennifer was born July 14, 1975, to John Thomas Manly and Laura Ann (Johnston) Stevens in Des Moines, Iowa. Her brother, Chad, was born in 1978. The family moved to Castle Rock, Colorado in 1979.
Jennifer had a heart of gold with a beautiful smile, and a contagious laugh. She could bring out the best in people with her ability to put them at ease. She loved spending time with children at local hospitals, organizations and at church events. She became very active in her church and volunteered her time at a variety of events when she could. She enjoyed her Bible study time, often learning and sharing encouraging Bible verses. She had many hobbies throughout her life including photography, sewing, gardening, and even played in a Ladies League of indoor ice hockey for a couple of years. Can you just see her little stature in those oversized padded garments? Her posts on Facebook typically included a message of endearment or encouragement and often posted pictures of sunsets and most recently posted many pictures of her beloved golden lab, Sophie. Jennifer touched the lives of many, and we will be forever grateful to Our Lord for having shared her with us.
Jennifer is survived by her father, John Thomas Manly; her mother, Laura Stevens (husband Ron); brother Chad (wife Allison, children Kate Monroe and Cash Malachi); brother Jeff Stevens; paternal grandmother, Bernie Manly; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that any memorial contributions be given to one of the following organizations:
