Joseph M. "Joe" Hodges born to Robert L. and Mattie Hodges on January 29, 1924, in Independence, Virginia. Joe passed away on March 8, 2012.
Joe is one of 12 children and survived by three brothers, one sister, two step children and three grandchildren. On August 30, 1957 he married Helen L. Barr in El Centro, California. Helen passed away October 30, 2009. Joe joined the Army in December 1942 and served in the Army Air Corp until his discharge in 1946. At which time Joe was employed at the Aderdeen Proving Grounds, MD as an Artillery Maintenance Mechanic until his transfer to the Yuma Proving Grounds in 1952. He was promoted to Department Head in 1974 until his retirement in 1979. He retired to Payson in 1996.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012, 10:00 am at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Ave, Yuma, AZ.
