Juana Vega

Juanita nació en el año de 1949, en la ciudad de Tecuala, Nayarit, México, hija de Ricardo Gallardo y Petra Rendón. Sus años de niñez y juventud los vivió en las ciudades de Tecuala y Acaponeta, Nayarit hasta aproximadamente el año de 1973, cuando emigró a los Estados Unidos de América con sueños de superación. Juanita hizo trabajo agrícola en Arizona y California durante muchos años hasta que finalmente pudo realizar su pasión, que fue trabajar con niños en varios programas de Head Start. Juanita tenía un verdadero don para la educación infantil; el trabajo le sentaba bien porque ella era enérgica, alegre y le encantaba jugar.

En su jubilación, Juanita pudo combinar su amor a Cristo y su espíritu explorador al hacer varias peregrinaciones a lugares de gran importancia Católica. Entre estas peregrinaciones se encuentran Europa, África y el Medio Oriente, Juanita también pudo visitar los Santuarios Marianos en Francia y Portugal, así como visito el Vaticano en Roma. Dentro de sus viajes tuvo la oportunidad de meditar en Egipto, Petra y Jerusalén.Cuando no estaba viajando, Juanita cantaba en el coro de su iglesia local y era voluntaria para varias actividades de la iglesia. Sus últimos años los paso completamente dedicada a sus nietas y nieto, así como siempre se dedico a sus hijas.

Juanita es precedida en la muerte por sus padres, su esposo y varios de sus hermanos. Le sobreviven sus hijas, Diana M. Trovatore y Irene I. Vega, sus nietos Damara M. Rodríguez, Penelope L. Alonzo-Vega y Lucas E. Alonzo-Vega, así como sus yernos Hugo Rodríguez Aceves y Joseph A. Alonzo.

Juanita Vega, dear mother and grandmother, passed away the evening of January 28, 2021 in Newport Beach, California. Her daughters, Diana and Irene, were with her when she passed.

Juanita was born in 1949, in the city of Tecuala, Nayarit, Mexico, daughter of Ricardo Gallardo and Petra Rendón. She immigrated to the United States in approximately 1973, where she did farm work in Arizona and California until she was able to fulfill her passion of working in early childhood education. Juanita had a real gift for working with children; the job suited her well because she was energetic, cheerful, and loved to play.

In her retirement, Juanita was able to combine her love of Christ and her free spirit by making several pilgrimages to sites of great Catholic significance in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. When she was not traveling, Juanita volunteered at her local church and sang in the choir. In her final years, Juanita relished being a dedicated grandmother, just as she had always been a dedicated mother.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert G. Vega, and several of her siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Diana M. Trovatore and Irene I. Vega, her grandchildren Damara M. Rodríguez, Penelope L. Alonzo-Vega, and Lucas E. Alonzo-Vega, as well as her sons-in-law Hugo Rodríguez Aceves and Joseph A. Alonzo.
