

Lewis LeRoy Inman, age 87, of Yuma, Arizona passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021. Lew was born to Kenneth and Lenore Inman on June 18, 1934 in Flagler, CO. He attended schools in Stratton, CO and joined the Army after graduation. He served in Germany and received an Honorable Discharge in 1957. Following his discharge, he returned to make his home in Burlington, CO.
He married Darlene Phillips in 1958, and to this union three daughters were born; Michele, Kerry, and Kendra. They were divorced in 1981, but remained good friends until his death.
Lew liked nothing better than being behind the wheel of his big rig. He drove coast to coast for several years. In 1988 he formed his own company, Lewco Iron and Metals LLC, in Grand Junction, CO, which was his home at that time. In 2018, he moved to Yuma, AZ to live with his daughter, Michele when his health started to fail. In 2019, his daughter Kerry moved to Yuma, AZ from Grand Junction, CO to help care for her father.
Lew is survived by his three daughters, Michele of Yuma, Kerry of Yuma, and Kendra of Phoenix. He had 11 grandchildren, Brianna, Jeremiah, Joshua, Lewis, Michael, Patrick, Emma, Harley, Zainab, Jennah, and Baida. He also had seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren and his brother Stan.
Lew was a hard working man, who had little time for social activities. When he was a young man, he joined the Elks and went through the chairs of officers to become the Exalted Ruler. On May 28, 1969, he became a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He attended meetings several times each week and was always available to help anyone who asked for it. He received his 50 Year Chip on May 28, 2019. Before his death, he was a member for 53 years.
